AKMZA is a longevity and human-biology design practice, not a technology installer. We engage at pre-MEP stage alongside the architect and interior designer to author the biological layer into the building itself. The result is not a collection of products — it is a calibrated environment where light, air, sound, water, sleep and intelligence operate as one living system.

Which control systems do you specify?

We specify and commission KNX, Dynalite, Lutron HomeWorks, Crestron Home and Control4 Luxury Tier — chosen according to the project's scale, the client's interaction preferences and the architect's aesthetic requirements. The control layer is always wired-first for reliability, with wireless used only where a cable path is genuinely impossible.

Can you retrofit bespoke automation into an existing residence?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most of our residential commissions are retrofits — owners who have lived in a property and now want it authored to the Longevity Standard. We audit the existing MEP, containment and finishes, then design the deepest layer the building will accept. Circadian lighting, air improvement, acoustic calibration and intelligent control are almost always achievable. Full envelope and water systems may be phased where access is limited.

What does a bespoke commission include?

Every commission includes discovery, technical authoring, MEP coordination, specification, commissioning and handover. The deliverable is a residence that meets the AKMZA Longevity Standard across all six pillars: Circadian Light, Air & Temperature, Sound & Acoustics, Water, Sleep and Intelligent Integration. We also provide lifecycle governance, firmware management and ongoing calibration.

How long does a bespoke automation commission take?

Accepted Answer

A typical residential retrofit takes four to eight months from discovery to handover. New-build commissions are integrated into the wider construction programme, with our works beginning at pre-MEP and completing during snagging. Programme is shaped by building NOCs, working-hour restrictions and seasonal humidity.

Do you work outside the UAE?

Yes. AKMZA is headquartered in Dubai Silicon Oasis with project teams in New York, London and Singapore. Commissions are delivered across the UAE, GCC, Europe and North America. The Longevity Standard is climate-adapted to each region.
