What actually sets the figure.
We never quote price in the abstract. But the variables that determine it are not confidential — and knowing them makes every quotation you receive, from us or anyone else, readable.
The honest answer
Home automation cost in Dubai is set by four things: how much of the environment is being authored, whether the residence is a new-build or a retrofit, which backbone the architecture requires, and how long the system must be governed after handover. Hardware is rarely the largest line. AKMZA does not publish package tiers because the honest answer to 'how much' is always project-dependent — but the variables below are not secret, and understanding them makes any quotation you receive readable.
Depth of the authored layer
A lighting and shading commission is a fraction of a full six-pillar environment. Air handling, whole-home water polish and acoustic decoupling carry their own mechanical and structural consequences, and those consequences — not the control hardware — dominate the figure.
Build stage at engagement
Engaging at pre-MEP is the cheapest point in a project's life. Every stage later adds cost: first fix means designing around fixed routes; post-handover means opening finished surfaces and reinstating them to architectural standard.
Backbone and topology
A wired ISO-standard bus costs more in containment and labour than a wireless overlay, and less over twenty years in failures, replacements and truck rolls. Estate-scale and multi-building topologies add network, redundancy and plant-room requirements.
Interface and finish specification
Keypads, panels and speaker grilles are specified in materials coordinated with the interior designer. Bespoke metalwork and custom finishes are a genuine cost line — and the one most often underestimated in comparison quotes.
Compliance and documentation
Building NOCs, community design approvals, SIRA-aligned security, DEWA or ADDC coordination and TDRA radio compliance carry design and administration time. A quotation that omits them has deferred the cost, not removed it.
Governance after handover
Firmware ownership, seasonal recalibration and change management for the life of the residence. Priced as a discipline rather than a warranty card — and the reason AKMZA homes still behave correctly in year ten.
The expensive part is rarely on the quotation.
- Consumer-grade hardware installed in unconditioned ceiling voids, replaced every three summers.
- Cloud-dependent devices that lose function when a vendor sunsets a service.
- Undocumented programming that ties you to the integrator who wrote it.
- Retrofitted air and acoustic work after finishes are complete.
- Rework caused by MEP drawings locked before the intelligent layer was designed.
What clients ask before commissioning.
Scoped honestly, governed for decades.
Bring us the residence, the emirate, the stage and the budget. We will tell you what can be authored to standard — and what should wait for a later phase.
A design practice, not an installer
AKMZA is a longevity and human-biology practice — the only one in the region that authors high-end home automation as an environment, not a hardware package. Engaged at pre-MEP alongside your architect, never bolted on after the finishes are chosen.
Luxury home automation, engineered for the Gulf
Every specification is calibrated to 45 °C summers, coastal humidity, sand events and the seven emirates' NOC and SIRA rules. Consumer-grade hardware fails in Dubai; ours is rack-mounted, wired-first, and rated for the climate it lives in.
Reference-tier systems, chosen by performance
KNX for the building backbone, Lutron HomeWorks with Ketra for circadian light, Crestron where AV leads. Specified last — after the residence is understood — never by margin. A bespoke integration, not a catalogue.
The six Longevity pillars, authored as one
Circadian Light · Air & Temperature · Sound & Acoustics · Water · Sleep · Intelligent Integration. Modern smart home automation done to a biological standard — the environment you occupy is measurably calmer, cleaner and quieter than the street it sits on.
Twenty-year governance, not a warranty card
Every commission ships with an ETS project file, a lifecycle plan and annual re-calibration. The bus is specified for the building's life; the interface layer is deliberately replaceable. You are never locked to us — or to any single vendor's roadmap.
