Human centric lighting. Interior biology, made resident.

A specification discipline before it is a fixture decision. AKMZA authors the lighting layer around the biology of the household — melanopic dose, spectral arc, visual comfort, colour fidelity and register — across every room in the residence.

01Editorial

The human eye is not a photometer. It is a biological instrument that reads spectrum, timing and register — and the residence has to speak that language.

Human centric lighting is the practice of authoring the lighting layer around the resident, not around the fixture catalogue. It is measured in melanopic-EDI, CRI, flicker and glare — not in wattage.

Done properly, the resident feels the effect long before they can name it: better sleep, sharper mornings, calmer evenings, art that finally reads the way its maker intended.

02The six pillars of the AKMZA lighting practice
01

Melanopic dose

Sufficient short-wavelength intensity at the eye during the biological day — enough to entrain the circadian rhythm without overshooting into glare.

02

Spectral arc

A continuous white arc across the day, keyed to the site's latitude and the household's schedule — never a stepped preset.

03

Blue-suppressed evening

In the last hours before sleep the fixture set drops below the melatonin-suppression threshold — measured, not marketing.

04

Visual comfort

Glare, uniformity and contrast authored per room, with flicker measured across the dimming range so the eye does not do the work the fixture should.

05

Colour fidelity

High CRI and R9 across the fixture set — because art, textiles, food and skin all deserve to be seen as they were designed to be seen.

06

Register and mood

The lighting layer changes register on cue: dining, cinema, arrival, night. Scenes are authored with the household living in the space, not from a demo.

Why AKMZA

Why AKMZA for human centric lighting.

Human centric lighting is a discipline before it is a product. AKMZA authors the lighting layer as one of the six pillars of the Longevity Standard, calibrated on site by our own engineers, and federated with the shading, HVAC and interface layers so the residence behaves as one biological instrument.

I

A design practice, not an installer

AKMZA is a longevity and human-biology practice — the only one in the region that authors high-end home automation as an environment, not a hardware package. Engaged at pre-MEP alongside your architect, never bolted on after the finishes are chosen.

II

Luxury home automation, engineered for the Gulf

Every specification is calibrated to 45 °C summers, coastal humidity, sand events and the seven emirates' NOC and SIRA rules. Consumer-grade hardware fails in Dubai; ours is rack-mounted, wired-first, and rated for the climate it lives in.

III

Reference-tier systems, chosen by performance

KNX for the building backbone, Lutron HomeWorks with Ketra for circadian light, Crestron where AV leads. Specified last — after the residence is understood — never by margin. A bespoke integration, not a catalogue.

IV

The six Longevity pillars, authored as one

Circadian Light · Air & Temperature · Sound & Acoustics · Water · Sleep · Intelligent Integration. Modern smart home automation done to a biological standard — the environment you occupy is measurably calmer, cleaner and quieter than the street it sits on.

V

Twenty-year governance, not a warranty card

Every commission ships with an ETS project file, a lifecycle plan and annual re-calibration. The bus is specified for the building's life; the interface layer is deliberately replaceable. You are never locked to us — or to any single vendor's roadmap.
